Do you ever play that game “What if?”
Sometimes it’s a distraction.
Sometimes it brings focus.
Often it’s based on our lack instead of our hopes.Either focus can lead us in the right or wrong direction.
What if everything you know about your life is wrong?
Have you ever taken the time to think about that?
The unexamined life is not worth living for a human being. – Socrates[Tweet “The unexamined life is not worth living for a human being – Socrates @revtrev”]
What if what you held most true was false? What if God was a figment of your imagination? What if Jesus never rose from the dead? What if you’re following a religion that’s made by man and has no basis in history or fact?
I guess Pascal’s wager would come into play:
“Belief is a wise wager. Granted that faith cannot be proved, what harm will come to you if you gamble on its truth and it proves false? If you gain, you gain all; if you lose, you lose nothing. Wager, then, without hesitation, that He exists.”
― Blaise Pascal, Pensées
What if God is real and the One who spoke the universes into being? What if He stands outside of time, but stepped into time to split time into BC and AD (I know that wasn’t His purpose).
I guess Pascal’s wager would come into play again.
So what to you have to lose when you decide to make Jesus the Lord of your life?
