I was investigating SlideShare.net for a client whose site I’m working – yes I design websites and books at Ask and Imagine – and I came across this slide show about blogging. Since I’m being asked by people how I’m getting so many readers to this site, I might as well tell you a few things I’m picking up along the way.
I’ve got a few tips from Jason that I’m going to start using – I never thought of including pictures in every blog, even though when I read other people’s blogs it’s often the pictures that grab my attention.
Let me know what other tips you see in this slideshow that you think I should think about for this blog. Appreciate it.

Hi Trevor,
eek.. slideshow cannot be displayed…. there’s either something wrong on your side, or I’m being directed to stop surfing and start working!
…hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to work I go….
But before I go: I agree with you: the powerful of including an image is unmeasurable; not only can you illustrate the idea of the post far better than the words you may use on the post, the image can also highlight another facet that you didn’t really go into all that deeply. With the multitude of really creative artists adn photographers out there sharing their work with the world with the Creative Commons License, you can really imporove the aesthetic quality of your post and be moved in ways other than your writing.
Besides that, Google (other search engines are available) Image search is really taking off. As an example, my almost 7-month old blog receives a small trickle of visitors from Google each month via the text search, but the images I have on my blog have been shown over 32,000 times a month to people when they search with Image Search!
Now, I really must get to work – I have deadlines, you know!
What are you running? OS and browser? It’s working fine for me, but it’s been so long since I’ve seen the post. Thanks for the reminder.
It’s working fine now – Interesting slideshow!
