Can waiting be “good”?
I’m not one to say all we should expect from God is what we want. I know we can’t even get what is promised whenever we decide we want it. I believe God calls something else good and we need to know how to embrace it.
What Else is Good?
James 1:2-4 NIV
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
To get the good we will be tested. To get the good, we need to wait.
Psalm 27:13-14 (New International Version)
I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the LORD
in the land of the living.Wait for the LORD;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the LORD.
Waiting isn’t wishful thinking. It’s not sitting around doing nothing. It’s not disbelieving good is for you or not believing good will come.
The Amplified version translates Isaiah 40:31 this way:
Isaiah 40:31 (Amplified Bible)
But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up
as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired
Waiting is a confident expectation that God is good and He’s in a good mood. Waiting this way gives us endurance. And we need to know how to endure, and not only endure but we need to know how to overcome.
In the next blog post on this topic I’ll give you want I’ve found helps us to endure and overcome.

Very nice post, keep it up.
