This is a guest blog post from LoveRealm. It’s a great testimony to share. I’m more focussed on Twitter than Facebook, but I do see the value of connecting with people on it. Check out what happened without traditional Social Media Marketing.
I know this may sound counterintuitive, but I dare you to invest the last dime you have. This is a personal testimony of how God multiplied the little seed I sowed into our ministry. Essentially, the aim of the investment was in anticipation to the launch of our Christian ministry, LoveRealm. It was thus prudent that we launch a Facebook fan page. After creating the fan page, we realized we needed to run some ads to attract a few fans here and there. We had a very low budget and little to spend. After running a couple of ads, we gained about 800 fans, however that was only after spending several hundreds of dollars. By the end of these ads, we were almost broke and unsatisfied with the fan count. This really frustrated us. Consequently, as the leader, I decided to declare a fast and pray into our ministry. During this process, I invested the last dime we had (that was $10.0) in running a Facebook ad. Waiting patiently, I thought to myself: “The ads should have finished running by now, and we should have at least 100 more fans”. To my shock, when I checked, we had gained 1000 more fans, and it had cost us $4.5 or something. I thought this was an error from the Facebook system or something so I refreshed the page. When I rechecked, it was for real. We then run more ads, and our fan count soared to over 5000. I then said: “This is a miracle!” It was after this that I realized God had answered my prayer.
After this encounter, a number of biblical scenarios came to mind. Do you remember when Jesus took just 5 loaves of bread and fed 5000 men (not counting women and children)? Also, what about the night when Peter and his friends had fished without result? They caught fish in excess when they obeyed Jesus. What’s more, how about the scenario when Jesus turned water into wine? What I’m I driving at? Basically, all I’m saying is that our God is a multiplying God and he judges the intent of his people. With that said, this miracle would not have happened if I did not fast, neither would it have happened if I had not taken the initiative to run the ads. God multiplies our effort. What this means therefore is that if you invest nothing, you get nothing. For by basic arithmetic, we know that 0 multiplied by any number is still 0. How then shall I conclude? Ain’t got no money to invest in your startup? I dare you to invest the little you have for our God is a multiplying God. What do you think?
RevTrev, God bless you.
