Over the past 12 years, God has given me a passion for Mentoring, Discipleship and Biblical Worldview, and that passion has driven me to share what God is teaching me with as many people as God will allow! It’s a passion that God continues to shape, mold and grow as I begin to grasp what God is revealing to me through His scriptures, serving in the church, and through His Holy Spirit.
I talk about Worldview issues all the time with people I know, at church, work, and everywhere in between…including on the Internet in blogs, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+; you name it, I have probably at least checked it out at some point as an avenue for sharing what God is teaching me! I believe God has given us the ability to build an amazing technology base that continues to expand and reinvent how we communicate with others and build relationships with many people we may never meet face-to-face.
As I delve into the social media world, I am amazed, saddened, and sometimes humored, by the stark contrast in world views out there. You see, everyone has a world view. It consists of what they believe, which attributes to how they respond and act.
For example, I tweeted a message the other night on Twitter with the hashtag #Transformation. I thought I’d try to discover a few new friends and followers by searching that hashtag. Wow! I discovered everything from people bragging about their bodies after a workout, to a makeover, to remodeling a room, a butterfly quote, and evens couple on being transformed in Christ. Transformation is a crucial Biblical term, but unless you have a Biblical Worldview, it is just about surface improvements!
God tells us, through the words of Paul, that we are to offer our bodies as living sacrifices as an act of worship and out of our love for Him! We then, being fully submitted to God’s vision for our lives, begin to renew our minds on His Truth…His word! And as we develop a Biblical Worldview (maybe we should call it a Godview!) we can then discover the gifts and passions he has given us to serve Him for the sake of the kingdom! (See Romans 12:1-2)
There is no greater calling in our lives than to be fully submitted to God, read our Bibles, and simply do what it says…not to gain his love, he gives that freely! No, we do what He says because we love Him and once we discover we are His, our action is to build His kingdom, one amazing, #transformational moment at a time!
About the Author
Rob Boyland, Pendleton, IN. Disciple of Jesus, husband to my beautiful wife Lisa, and father to three incredible daughters, Kayla, Haley and Chloe.
God has given me a passion for Mentoring, Discipleship and Biblical Worldview. God is calling me to share with the world the message He has engraved in my DNA…the very same message Christ gave us as the Great Commission; to Go make disciples, Baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and Teaching them all that He commanded…Go, Baptize and Teach. As He continues to mold my Worldview, I step out a little further to see where He will lead me!
I am currently and Elder in my local church and enjoy my family very much! I also really enjoy spending time with young men, providing mentoring and discipleship for them as well as developing a relationship with them based on my relationship with Christ. I have developed a love for writing – blogs, papers, and for the first time, I am writing a book on the topic of Mentoring and Discipleship. I also enjoy using social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, Google+, YouTube and LinkedIn to go into all the world and spread the message that God has been revealing to me.
I’d love for you to follow me on my blog and Twitter (see below) and join me in the adventure of a lifetime…investing in the lives of others for the sake of the Kingdom!
