I’ve been reading a lot of focus lately…along with developing your platform and voice and channels. With the launch of both iBookShepherd.com and soon TheAuthorAcademy.com I’ve been searching for a string theory that ties all my passions together.
I was listening to a Dan Miller podcast and something he said really made things come into alignment for me.
My passion has always been to make thing matter.
Every day I help authors who’s only goal was to write a book. They’d like it to succeed, but aren’t ready for the work to ensure it does. Once in a while I get to work with someone who excites me…because their book matters.
They want their book to outlive them. They are more concerned with helping to change lives or encourage others or give people a glimmer of what it could mean if they lived their lives fully alive. Their book matters.
Those are the ones I enjoy working with. You’re going to finding out about a few of them very shortly. You’ll be just as excited as I am, or perhaps even more.
I keep getting asked by people in ministries to help, especially with connecting through social media. The ones I enjoy working with are the ones with a bigger purpose…they have something to share and it matters.
And on this site I’ve decided to focus on helping people make their lives matter. I don’t know what that’s going to end up looking like, but I do know it’s going to matter to me.
Does it matter that your life matter? I know a lot of people who say it doesn’t matter if they matter…but I still see them doing what matters – to others and God.
How do you know your life matters? Share your thoughts in the comments.
Have you checked out the new look of the Facebook Page? I’d appreciate hearing what you think.
