Never forget – God has not forgotten you

revtrev newsWelcome to everyone who subscribed to one of my ministry email lists this week. I am excited and humbled to connect with each of you. If you have a question I could help you with or need prayer please don’t hesitate to send an email. Most of the ministry I do is online but it’s still with real people just like you.

In Canada we’re gearing up for Thanksgiving weekend! Family is coming in from around the world and at last count we have 4 major meals to look forward to. Yes, I am considering an extended fast following it all.

We did a lot on RevTrev this week and have a lot more to share for the rest of the calendar year. Before we get to it, here’s the thought for you to consider and be encouraged by.

God has not forgotten you!

I preached this sermon at Highway Christian Centre in the summer. They were able to post it to YouTube this week and after listening to it, it might be I actually preached it for me for this week. It might be for you too. You can check it out here: http://revtrev.com/perspective/god-has-not-forgotten-you/

It’s so easy to feel forgotten by God. I think it starts with feeling offended at Him – with something that doesn’t work out the way we expect. That makes it easy to accept excuses to not read the word and let it clean us. Then something happens or someone says something and we start to look at our situation from a natural point of view. Without renewing our minds with the Bible, without spending time daily in His presence, we stop thinking God’s thoughts and accept the lies we see in front of us.

Never believe the lie that God has forgotten you. How can He? He’s God.

Here are some of verses I currently use to remind myself of God’s thoughts for me:

  • You’re engraved on the palm of his hands. (Isaiah 49:14-16)
  • You are the apple of his eye. (Psalm 17:8)
  • His thoughts for you are more than all grains of sands on every beach on every ocean and every dune in every desert. (Psalm 139:18)
  • He is for you and not against you. (Romans 8:31)
  • He rejoices over you with singing. (Zephaniah 3:17)
  • He knit you together in your mother’s womb. (Psalm 139:13)
  • All of your days were written in His book before one of them came to be. (Psalm 139:16)
  • You are chosen and beloved of the Father. (Colossians 3:12)

What are the thoughts God has for you that encourage you most? The Bible has a lot in it to remind us we’re not forgotten. Share them in the comments to encourage others God has not forgotten them either and realize, no matter how you feel, God has not forgotten you.

Can I pray for you?

Father, you are so good. You don’t reject us even in our foolish thinking. You don’t remove us from the apple of your eye. You are never against us when we are with you. Help us Father to choose to live unoffended at unanswered questions and embrace the truth of who you say we are. Speak to us all clearly, so we can understand. We need to hear your word for us today. Amen

Should I get new breast implants?

I didn’t think how this would look on Facebook. It’s led to some interesting questions from my friends. http://facebook.com/revtrevdotcom/ It’s actually a new episode of Counselling Corner with Cheryl Shea. We shot a number of episodes this week and this one was the last one, but somehow was the first one produced and syndicated. A RevTrev Reader read my earlier post on breast implants  and asked me what she should do about replacing hers. I asked Cheryl what her advice would be. Watch the episode here:

Living Out of the Father’s Love

My friend Gary Meller is doing a seminar at our church called Living Out of the Father’s Love. I’ve done a series of interviews with him. The first one is here:

http://revtrev.com/interviews-2/gary-meller-on-living-out-of-the-fathers-love/

Even if you’re not in Edmonton, could you take a look at the video and share it if you think others might be interested? The church is going to stream the event live on YouTube so you can be part of it or encourage someone who needs to hear the message and respond to God’s love and grace.

And Finally…Authors, can you spare 3 minutes?

Wisdom is found in many counsellors and I really would like to hear from authors. We have a survey up on TheAuthorAcademy.com http://theauthoracademy.com/author-survey/ There is a draw for a Lifetime Membership to the site. I really do appreciate the time and advice you’ll be sharing. Thanks so much.

What’s Next?

Wow…there was a lot done on the site this week and I didn’t even mention the 22 interviews I did with authors and ministry leaders that will all be eventually coming your way.

Thanks for being a RevTrev Reader and thanks for reading to the end of this newsletter. Now click on those links you find interesting and share them with people on your social networks. You can forward this newsletter to anyone you think can be encouraged by it. Thanks for doing it.

Keep making your life matter
