Sitting and Waiting…

We were up at 4:00 to make sure we got to the airport by 5:00. Our flight was scheduled to leave by 7:05 and we planned to be home in about an hour from now. We got on the plane right on schedule and everything looked good to go. The Captain mentioned one of the redundant systems was down, but we should be able to fly without it… an hour later they let us out of the plane.

It’s now 1:00 PM and although the plane is fixed, he error message won’t go away. We’ve missed our connection flight that is already en route back home but have been “assured” we can catch the last flight out of Minneapolis. We’ll see.

I’ve got so much to blog about. The weekend was amazing. Even with missing a flight on the way down and this ever-extending adventure we’re on today, it was so worth the trip. We were so encouraged by Patricia King, in what she shared, how she answered questions, and what she imparted and blessed us with.

Karen had the best one of the day. It was powerful. I’ll let her tell people what that was all about. I was blessed too… and got “be ready for the conflict and arrows coming your way, fight with the opposite virtue, show love at all times.”

I don’t know what’s coming, but I know my next book will be a help to many and offend a few, and I’ve been feeling God’s pleasure over me as I’ve worked on the manuscript this weekend. God downloaded a complete re-write of a weak chapter. I can’t wait to get the manuscript of “How to Hope at the End of the Rope” in the hands of everyone who wanted to see the pre-publication version. It had me in tears as I worked on it on the way down here – and I wrote it and knew what to expect.

I’ll soon have the course “How to Hope Again” available for people when they sign up at RevTrev.com

This week is a short week as we have another conference to go to on the weekend and I’m preaching at Highway on Sunday. I can’t wait to transfer my handwritten updates to the manuscript as well.

Anyway, what do you do when you sit and wait? Do you know how to wait expectantly and not be disappointed when the news comes “the plane is still broken”? Do you know how to be confident in spite of your experience? Can you be still and known God is still in control, and look for the opportunities He has divinely appointed for you?

Maybe if I can find the person who I can encourage, pray for or minister to we can get this plane moving…

Better go.
