I’ve been working on setting up iBookShepherd.com as it’s own site so I need everyone on that list to know this is likely the last RevTrev News you’ll get. You’ll need to sign up for the newsletter if you want to keep getting this. A big welcome to everyone who signed up for RevTrev News, the Negativity Fast, Twitter Tips, Counselling Corner and Book Shepherd the last few weeks. This is likely your first RevTrev News. Drop me a line to introduce yourself to me.
What’s In It For the Other Person?
Have you ever thought about what’s in it for the other person? Honestly, I think that all the time, but I can’t say I think about it the right way.
I’m looking for the angle, the purpose the “why”. It could be that I’ve been conned before – I have, more times than I’d care to admit. But more likely it’s because of my personality that automatically assumes I know the other persons true intentions even when they might not be aware of them. (Ask my wife, that personality bent can get a little annoying.)
However lately I’ve been thinking more about “what’s in it for the other person” in a different light. I’ve been thinking about how some situations can end up being win-win, not win-lose. It means I need to value and respect what the other person believes and values. You and I both know that can be a stretch. It’s easy when your meditating. It’s tougher when you’re part of the problem.
Do you have a situation you’ve only been looking at as a win-lose scenario?
We see it often in married relationships. You’re not at war with your spouse! Stop it!What about at work? In your extended family? With former friends?
Take some time and think about what you could do to change the situation so everybody wins. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you. He’ll show you what to do.
Mind If I Pray For You?
Lord help us to think your thoughts. Help us to do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit but in humility consider others better than ourselves. Help us to look not only to our own interests, but also to the interest of others. Help us to follow your example.
Upcoming on RevTrev
I’ve been falling behind on answering people’s questions so I thought I would do a Q and A episode of RevTrev Radio. I’m not sure if this will be the only one. The questions are difficult and require more than trite answers. Here are the ones I’m looking to answer in the next week’s episode…
What happens when someone is running from answering the call of God? I don’t understand how God can consist of three gods. Why don’t the christians include the Gospel of Barnabas? Is Mohamed mentioned in the Bible? Why do the christians believe that Jesus (pbuh) is god not a Messenger? Is there an Eternal Hell? Is Satan Talking to me? How can a born again son of God overcome the attack once and for all? How Can I defeat addiction? How would I get to grow under your umbrella and work with you?
Yes, I agree. It might be two or three episodes. Let me know if you like the new format and send me your questions I can help answer.

On Last Thing
Thank you all for your prayers for my sister. She was sent home to recover before surgery. There are a few things that need to heal up before she has her gallbladder removed. I’d like to see complete healing without surgery, but appreciate you praying for anything you have faith for.
Have a great week! Keep your comments coming. I appreciate hearing from you.
