As I’m launching my coaching business through http://MoreThanABucketList.com I’ve really focused on who it is that God is leading me to work with. We call this the avatar. You can probably tell by the name of the site who I’m focusing on.
I know I want to coach people who are wanting to leave a legacy. They may have worked to pay the bills, but now they are able to readjust and reevaluate what they put their efforts behind. They’ve decided to work on things that will out last them and benefit those around them. Because the best time to start leaving a legacy is TODAY.
But who do I write to on RevTrev.com?
To be honest, this site as evolved from a way for us to communicate with family and friends in Canada (yes, Facebook was not available when we moved to New Zealand) to a blog about just about anything that came into my head. I’ve used it to write books and messages and enjoy the feedback in the comments and emails I get. But if you’ve been here any length of time you know my thoughts can be a little random.
At the start of this year I began tracking my readers….OK, this is going to be a little scary for you, but look at what quantcast tells me about you…
But that doesn’t tell the whole story
Honestly, I don’t know why it’s telling me the ethnicity is African American. When I first checked the stats it was predominately so. After I left it a month, it shows Caucasians to be 71%. But there’s more…
These demographics don’t tell me what my readers are thinking or the values they hold.
With the comments and emails I get there are some themes that come out. These themes aren’t in the demographics. If I were to summarize them it would be something like:
RevTrev Readers love God, but have questions about how He works in the world and how the church works with Him. What they’ve been taught in the church doesn’t always sit right. They say, “I’m looking for answers” but really they are looking to be loved and accepted and become better than who they are and better than the examples they’ve seen…and they grow to accept that happens over time.
If you’re reading this, you’re a Revtrev Reader. What would you add or change to that statement I’ve just made? Tell me about yourself in the comments. I really would like to become more focussed on the questions people are asking me and your comments help me do that.
