I’m in debt to Bill Johnson for giving me biblical words to express how we need to relate to God when things happen that just don’t make sense in light of His nature or character. John the Baptist declared the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, knowing the anointed one would release the prisoners. But then he sat in prison and doubt started to set in. He sent his disciples to ask his cousin if [...] Read more »
How to Stop the Blame Game with God?
This question was asked in a comment on a blog post. I really needed more time to develop an answer. Thanks to everyone who has left comments and tweeted out my blog posts. We’ve got over 1600 on just over 500 posts! Awesome! Question: Rob Sharp riverleadershipschool.com I agree with your post (http://revtrev.com/forgiveness/forgiving-the-father/) that we don’t need to forgive God! spot on. But its being a little theologically correct in an emotional issue. It is like the ‘I don’t believe [...] Read more »

How I Hear the Father Speak to Me
Unless you’re taking a test and the Teacher is silent, the Father is always speaking. It’s up to us to learn how He’s speaking in this season, or else we may just miss it. Job 33:14 says – For God speaks time and again but a person may not notice it. Why is it so important for us to notice what the Father says? First, it confirms we are His. My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they [...] Read more »

Live Without Offence at God – Day 29
Truth: “But forget all that– it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” Isaiah 43:18-19 (New Living Translation) Thought: As we choose to live un-offended at God, we need to make a choice as to what we will focus on. Will our focus [...] Read more »
Do I Need to Forgive the Father? – Day 28
Truth: Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before you! As when fire sets twigs ablaze and causes water to boil, come down to make your name known to your enemies and cause the nations to quake before you! For when you did awesome things that we did not expect, you came down, and the mountains trembled before you. Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye [...] Read more »
Forgiving the Father
I’ve often been asked if anyone ever needs to forgive God. That language makes me uncomfortable. Forgiveness is giving up our right for revenge. It’s putting the other into the hands of God. It’s His to avenge. He’s the one to repay. How can we put God in His own hands? How could we ever take revenge against God? However, forgiveness is also agreeing to live with the consequences of another’s action or inaction. That could mean we may need [...] Read more »
