Is RevTrev.com Becoming Too Random?

road-300x225

In 2012 I’m planning on becoming consistent blogging on Social Media Tips. I have series almost ready on Basic Blogging and Using Newsletters Effectively as well as some videos on Twitter Tips. I also have all kinds of training around every aspect of Publishing – writing, printing, distribution, marketing. My plans were to package them into informational products and I still might do that with the juicy stuff it took me 5 years and countless dollars to figure out, but [...] Read more »

Changes to the RevTrev Newsletter

New to RevTrev Newsletter

The subscribers to my weekly newsletter will know I have regular features that are usually included and special features that may be in and maybe out. Next week’s newsletter is going to be highlighting a couple of changes to both. First off, the regular feature called “Blogging Buddies” has been changed to “RevTrev Recommends” I started having “blogging buddies” because I found out when people commented on my posts, other people would also comment. I thought if I would do [...] Read more »

3 Things on my Wish List for RevTrev.com

blog issues

It seems this site is always in flux. It’s worse than our house, but that reminds me I need to remodel the bathroom. I promised myself to stop blogging about what I want to do since I found out it when you tell others about your plans you have a far less chance of getting those plans done. It’s because when we tell, instead of keeping us accountable, we psychologically feel the project is closer to being done than it [...] Read more »

10 Random Things About Me

have karen or trevor lund speak at your event

I was reading through blog posts today and came across Ten Random Things About Me on Chris Gallager’s blog. And I thought to myself, “Self, you get dozens of emails every week with readers telling you about themselves.” (It’s true, I enjoy it and ask for it. There are amazing people I get to know every day.) So I thought I’d have some fun with letting you know about some random things about me that you might not know because [...] Read more »

How to Add a Follow Button For ANY Twitter User

Why would you want to add a follow button to your blog for any Twitter user? I’ve found out this works in Firefox and Safari, but Chrome doesn’t seem to work.  Still I’m using it for two reasons. First, it helps to have a list of users on my Kingdom ReTweet Club. As people join up I’ll add them to the list. A quick survey of current users on the list show a total of over 160,000 followers. That’s a [...] Read more »

Sometimes I Wake Up Grumpy. Sometimes I Let Her Sleep.

I finally got to the bottom of my inbox and realized I NEVER posted this guest blog by Bud Bilanich. He wrote it to tie into the negativity fast. My apologies Bud. Thanks for the post. Be sure to check out his blog.   If you’re a regular reader of my career success blog, you know that I love Twitter.  It provides an easy way to build your on line presence.  Common sense suggests that easy is better than difficult.  [...] Read more »

A (nother) New Look for My Blog

I’ve got to love CatalystTheme It let’s me do just about anything. It’s Saturday and I’m waiting for the rain to stop and I awoke from my second sleep (I took my in-laws to the airport at 3:30 this morning) with the thought “I wonder how tough it will be to get recent posts on my frontpage?” I like the clean look I’ve had lately, but the frontpage was static and I wanted a little more. I couldn’t quite get [...] Read more »

Changes to Life Above the Negativity

I’ve just completed changes to LifeAbovetheNegativity.com Some people using IE8 were having real issues viewing the site. I was using an old theme called Frugal that has been replaced by Catalyst. (It’s what’s running RevTrev.com as well) There’s a plugin to transfer frugal to Catalyst and it went rather smoothly. I’ve done it enough that I know what I need to change. The biggest change is I took off the blog. I’ve been wanting to do it for some time. [...] Read more »

They Would Not Stay Awake With Me Either

This blog post is from Lisa Hainline. It’s a challenging post for all of us. I’ve had the parable she cites re-written to include me…by someone who was hurting and didn’t know I knew nothing about the situation. Check out here blog at http://www.thehealingsource.org I’ve had the luxury of not living in wartime circumstances in my immediate surroundings.  I’ve not seen bodies littering the streets after a bomb went off in my neighborhood, nor did I witness the awful beatings [...] Read more »

Responding to Emails…

I think I’ve contacted everybody personally…but I told a few I’d find the links for the questions they had and put them in a post. There are days I get amazed at how many people actually read my emails and blogs and tweets and respond with encouragement or questions I can help them with. I’ve had so many contact me lately I had to take an hour and respond to them all. I sent out an email asking people to [...] Read more »

How and Why Do I Blog so Much?

Top Posts This Week @ RevTrev.com I haven’t done the weekly wrap up for two weeks, I might explain more below. For now, just know these were the top posts since Nov 17th…I’m still trying to figure out an easy way to see which ones of the week I’ve posted are the top posts. A few plugins I’ve tried have really slowed up the site. 70 Functions of the Holy Spirit Angels – 20 Characteristics of Angels I See In [...] Read more »

302 Blog Posts and the Surprise that it Brings

To my amazement I’ve hit 302 blog posts since November 11, 2009. That’s 302 blog posts in 11 months. I wasn’t trying for a number, I was simply posting regularly and posting when I could. I’ve tried posting from my iPhone, posting from Twitter, scheduling my posts and posting whenever I’ve had time. Now I’m treating the blog more like a business. I’m setting up an autoresponder so people can get to know me better and sending a “top post” [...] Read more »

Hoping Hope In Transition Is An Answer to Prayer

With so much on the go, I can’t forget to let everyone know how thankful I am for all of your prayers. We sense a real breakthrough coming, not just for us but through us for others. There’s much for me to do this month, but I’m learning that the anointing teaches us all things (1 John 2:27). What I’m sensing that means is this: when we walk in what God has called us to do, we get revelation about [...] Read more »

Trevor Lund Daily Is Born

With so many followers on Twitter, I’m always getting mentioned in people’s daily papers. I finally had time to check it out and thought, “Why not do the same?” It seems like a great way to keep up with people I’m following. So I’ve started mine. The Trevor Lund Daily is set up. Every day a portion my tweets and the tweets of people I follow will be included as news stories.  Don’t know how it will go, but why not? [...] Read more »

How To Steward Your Destiny

Destiny – the question of how we live out our destiny is one I often get asked in various ways. I’ve shared this message on RevTrev Radio, Part 1 and Part 2 I thought it was time I’d blog about it as well. In the garden the serpent asked “Did God really say…?” (Genesis 3:1) and that’s a question satan keeps asking us today. It is so easy for us to forget the promise God has spoken to us. They are [...] Read more »

We Need Better Christian Blogging

Christians, we need to learn to blog better. We’ve got to raise the bar for Christian blogging. I’m not talking about content. Pastors, ministry leaders, and writers you already have amazing content. I know. I read many of you regularly. Content is not the problem – knowing how to use the power of the blog is. I’ve been talking to friends who blog or who are thinking about starting. They want to know how I get so many subscribers, how [...] Read more »

Too Much Automation on Facebook

OK, I know it’s my fault for “being present in the moment” I don’t see how some actions affect those around me until I see the results of my actions. When I first started using Twitter, I thought it was cool to automatically update my Facebook Status with my tweets. I   soon learned Facebook and Twitter are two different animals. Twitter is a river while Facebook is a fishbowl. On Twitter I carry on multiple conversations and can even get [...] Read more »

I’m Learning More About Blogging

I was investigating SlideShare.net for a client whose site I’m working – yes I design websites and books at Ask and Imagine – and I came across this slide show about blogging. Since I’m being asked by people how I’m getting so many readers to this site, I might as well tell you a few things I’m picking up along the way. I’ve got a few tips from Jason that I’m going to start using – I never thought of [...] Read more »
