Change is the Only Constant

blueprint for success

I’m not sure always thinking about the future is the best way to live, but as long as do what God has for me to do today I knows the plans I make are guided by the steps He directs. I’m excited for RevTrev.com in 2012. I’ll tell you why in a little bit. I’m also excited about what God seems to be doing in other parts of my life. I’ll share those things with you in time. Training and Encouragement Will Be More Structured on RevTrev.com

help - encouragemetn and training

Training and Encouragement Will Be More Structured on RevTrev.com in 2012. I’ve decided to pull my knowledge of social marketing and blogging, and book writing, publishing and marketing into RevTrev.com. I may have time for some coaching in these areas so I think the best way to see if there is any interest in my experience with these topics is to blog about it. We’ll see what happens. I’m also setting up email courses for topics I’ve written on – [...] Read more »

When Everything Looks Great…Only To You

healingwounds

If you’ve gone to revtrev.com this week you would have noticed some more changes. I’ve been working on them for a while and really have been pleased by how they’ve turned out. The slider in the header I’ll change to go to landing pages for main topics I blog about. The tabbed widget on the left gives me a lot more white space even though it doesn’t work so well on any other page but the front one. The main [...] Read more »

7 Things I’m Thankful For…

why

I’ve had this continual thought: “You need to be thankful” confronting me at the weirdest times. Knowing I’d be reminding myself as I remind my readers to be thankful, I decided to make it the topic of this week’s newsletter. Then as I listened to the market report I was reminded tomorrow is American Thanksgiving. (We have a shorter growing season in Canada and so celebrate ours the second Monday in October.) HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all my American readers. Have [...] Read more »

Changing the Things We Can

I did it. I took the plunge. I swallowed the red pill. I transferred my many sites to a new server promising better security and faster load times. I’d better not be seeing those 508 resource errors again any time soon. I tell you, the more traffic you get to your site the more you have to learn about the technical side of hosting. I need thank all my new readers for being part of the problem of overloading my [...] Read more »

How to Fight with Honor

Happy belated Thanksgiving to all you Canadians. I’m just getting over the extra turkey I shouldn’t have had. I’ve some issues with RevTrev.com – wordpress started missing automated posts. Good news for me is that others with more talent had the same problem and wrote a plugin for that so things seem to working again. I’ve been setting up an advocacy site so this newsletter is a little sparse. Enjoy though. A big welcome to all my new readers. I [...] Read more »

The Coolest Thing for Submitting Job Applications

I got some information on what makes a good newsletter. To my surprise, I’m actually doing almost all of it. I realized I shouldn’t try to get everything in I want to in a week and that’s it’s OK to mix up features. All that being said, I’ll stop calling these “short” newsletters. My bigger surprise this week was to find out this newsletter goes out to at least 78 countries. Check them out. If your country is missed it [...] Read more »

Changes Come and Seasons Go

We suddenly got summer here in the fall. I’m not complaining cause this could be all. More than the leaves are soon to be changed. There could be a lot more to be rearranged. So this is a short newsletter for you. To the 49 new ones “How do you do?” Email me and I’ll answer back. I’ll try to be nice and even use tact. Top 7 Visited Posts This Week @ RevTrev.com Twitter Tips from @revtrev is a [...] Read more »

A New Newsletter Format In the Fall

Over the summer I’ve been sending out a shorter version of the weekly newsletter. Still it’s the best way for me to connect with my readers every week. I have a 20% – 45% recorded open rate and a clickthrough sometimes over 22%. The think I’ve been noticing is that Thursdays, when I send out the newsletter, is the biggest sign up and sales day for me in the week. Apparently people are forwarding my newsletter to friends and clicking [...] Read more »

Why Does Our New Year Start With Death?

The kids are in their first day of school. They’re too cool to admit it, but they were both up bright-eyed and bushy-tail chattering like squirrels as they realized it was another hour before school started and they could have slept in. I’m not really expecting the same response the day after Labour Day. Around here September is the start of the year. The kids are back in school, families are back from holidays, the schedule picks up in church [...] Read more »

How Can I Know My Destiny Without Prophetic Words?

You may have never had a spiritual father or mother speak words of promise over you. Does this mean you can’t use this key to refocus from the pain to the promise? You can use this tool when you ask the Father to reveal the treasure He’s hidden in you. Invite Him to bring to your memory a passion from your childhood, or an encouragement from a teacher or pastor or friend. It’s as simple as praying: Father, I need [...] Read more »

Where Did the Summer Go?

Our kids are back in school one week from today. They are doing what they can to drink the last of the nectar of summer. I’m sort of looking forward to a more regular schedule. Lots of possibilities on the horizon. I know I need to make more time for God to show me His best. Too often we settle for the good and the  vinedresser needs to remove the good to get the better and remove the better to [...] Read more »

Spending Time with Kids is Great

Last week I was able to go camping with my son and his older cousin (and my brother-in-law who took care of everything). I think it was the first time I went to Kananaskis and did I ever come away impressed. For those of you who have heard of Banff, Kananaskis is just to the east of Banff and has a number of provincial parks. Banff is the tourist destination. Kananaskis is a little closer to nature. It was absolutely [...] Read more »

Taking Time With Daddy

Just got back from a morning fishing expedition with my son. We didn’t catch anything, but I only had to cut a line 3 times to untangle. That to me is a successful day trip. We’re going to look for a more productive fishing hole. It would be great to make it something we do for the rest of summer. I’ve been working to finish up a ghostwriting project so I didn’t think I was blogging as much as I [...] Read more »

6 Things We Do with Others that Strengthens Us In The Lord

You know I have a pastor’s heart, so you know I’m going to try to find a way to tell you “The coal goes out when it’s removed from the embers, but it burns bright when it’s close to them in the fire.” And you’re right, as I studied the Word I found some verse that seemed to fit together to expand on meeting together for encouragement. Here is what Scripture says strengthens us: 1. Grace Do not be carried [...] Read more »

Is THAT His Brains?

Welcome once again to the new subscribers of Life Above the Negativity, Expectancy Press and RevTrev.com. I’m amazed at the incredible people God’s been connecting me with around the world. There’s a lot on the go and summer is usually a time for other projects so I’m surprised that as I slow down on RevTrev.com traffic, comments and questions keep increasing. One thing I do is spend more time with the family in summer and the story I want to [...] Read more »

Will Disneyland Be in Heaven?

I want to once again welcome all the new subscribers to this newsletter. 40 Days for Life Above the Negativity list is growing without any extra effort on my part. That tells me people are going through some difficult times…or preparing for something good. I’ve seen a lot of Christian leaders encouraging us to give up negativity, we’re in a season of reaping what was lost. Keep strong. You’ve made a great decision to think about what you think about. God’s Promise to Shine on You

Do you need encouragement to rise from your discouragement? Here is the promise for you: “Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see. For the glory of the Lord rises to shine on you. Darkness as black as night covers all the nations of the earth, but the glory of the Lord rises and appears over you.
