happy new year 2012

I’ve been told by my hosting provider that I’m using up too many resources with RevTrev.com. That got me looking at my stats for page views to see what the issue could be. It’s humbling and a little scary if you knew half of my plans for RevTrev.com. I really need to find a host that can effectively handle the traffic. Few people told me this was part of the process for a successful blog. Anyway, that’s my problem not [...] Read more »

4 Things to Never Forget About Christmas

teachingtlChristmas

Does it feel like Christmas is coming in your part of the world? My sister returns from Africa in a couple of days. She’s home for Christmas and them off (I think) to the Dominican Republic for another short term missions trip. She’s been asked by the organization she was with in Africa to write a book about her experiences. I’ll show her how to plan the book out and will likely publish it through ExpectancyPress.com What makes it “feel” [...] Read more »

Am I Giving Correctly If I’m Guilted Into Giving?

entitlement

Here’s another question from a reader of the RevTrev Newsletter. I’d appreciate having your thoughts on this topic. Please leave your comments.   Question: Is the members of the church responsible for meeting all of the Pastor and 1st family needs.  (I know church members who have lost gifts the Lord gave them because they felt guilty to meet the need of the pastor and his family when pressured to give what they don’t have or been instructed by the [...] Read more »

Changing the Things We Can

I did it. I took the plunge. I swallowed the red pill. I transferred my many sites to a new server promising better security and faster load times. I’d better not be seeing those 508 resource errors again any time soon. I tell you, the more traffic you get to your site the more you have to learn about the technical side of hosting. I need thank all my new readers for being part of the problem of overloading my [...] Read more »

Blessing Boundaries Can Increase

breakingchains

There are two ways I see in scripture that blessing boundaries can be increased. 1. God Can Command It “Enlarge the place of your tent,  stretch your tent curtains wide, ?do not hold back; ?lengthen your cords, ?  strengthen your stakes. ?For you will spread out to the right and to the left; ?your descendants will dispossess nations ?and settle in their desolate cities. Isaiah 54:2-3 (New International Version, ©2010) 2. We Can Request It Jabez was more honorable than his [...] Read more »

God Knows…

If I’m not dropping off kids, it seems like I’m running to meetings. Not that I’m complaining about any of it. It’s all fun work I’m doing. I’m just finding I have to answer emails and comments late at night after the kids are asleep and I can’t do it everyday. I want to welcome my 73 new subscribers this week to LifeAbovetheNegativity.com, RevTrev.com, Twitter Tips and Expectancy Press. Drop me a line to tell me about yourself. I do [...] Read more »

5 Ways I’ve Failed at Confrontation

It’s one of those weeks with interesting phone calls, facebook messages, meetings and emails. It’s not even just because I stepped in it (more below). There are other hard conversations and emails in completely other directions. Man, you’d think I was paid to be a pastor. Anyway, I really need to thank everyone for your encouragement. It makes me feel good to know I’ve encouraged you in some way and blesses me so much to find out you’ve been praying [...] Read more »

Why It’s Important to Make A Decision

It looks like I’ll be sending out this newsletter on Wednesdays for now. Thursdays have booked up for me. We actually had some very exciting news this week and the complications that arose from the exciting news seemed to have been worked out. My father-in-law gave us his brand new car the day I started my new job. Phone calls, faxes, texts and emails had everything work out. It really seemed like an amazing turn around day for us. God’s [...] Read more »
