Can you do me a favor?

Oh the joys! A couple of weeks ago I realized all my sites got hacked. It took a while to find the holes and plug them up. It took longer to remove the 450 links to pharmaceutical companies on my sites. I had to manually clean them all out. Now I see I missed a link. I don’t see any signs of open doors so I’m confident the security I put into place is holding. Still it’s been inserted 140 [...] Read more »

Can You Rest?

Can you rest? Busy-ness cannot be a badge of honor in a Kingdom that promises righteousness, peace and joy. God’s been leading me to a few passages to slow me down and rest in His presence. This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength. But you would have none of it. Isaiah 30:15 (New Living Translation) I [...] Read more »

Kingdom – What About the Kingdom?

I’ve had many comments in emails and on some of the social networks I belong to that sound like warnings not to rock the boat. Most suggest, people are preaching the gospel if they simply teach “Jesus came, lived, died, rose again, ascended, and is coming back to judge the living and the dead, so REPENT!” I agree. This is the kerygma of Paul. This is his main message. But something that has me thinking is that Jesus preached about [...] Read more »

Our Strength in No Secret – Day 10

Truth: This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.  Nehemiah 8:10 (New International Version) Thought: The book of Nehemiah is such a good analogy for our fast from negativity. If I would have seen it early enough, the “40 Days for Life Above the Negativity” would have been 52 days, since that’s how long it took the people to re-build the walls of Jerusalem to a defensible position and [...] Read more »

Consider it Pure Joy

Mom was often asked if she prayed that we would return to Canada. “No” she reply “I always prayed God’s will for them.” The Christian journey from someone outside the faith must seem a peculiar one. When it does, we know we’re living it the way God wants us to. As Peter  wrote in 1 Peter 2:9-12 : But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the [...] Read more »

God’s Faithfulness

Our baby girl Taya was having a very difficult day. She was so homesick. She missed her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who were all back in Edmonton. I felt her pain. My heart was crying with her yet I had to put up a brave front in order to cheer her up. I’m afraid I wasn’t successful. Her Daddy asked what would be the one thing that could happen on this day to cheer her up. Her response [...] Read more »
