Why Can’t TV and Movies Show A Little More Originality?

OK. I know. I’m a writer so I know genres have certain expectations. We expect problems to be solved in 10 minutes for sitcoms. We expect a certain flow and characters for an epic. We like happy endings. I’m not really put off with CBC seeing the success of BBC’s “Merlin” so CBC is coming out with “Camelot” this fall. Does God want us to have wealth? We can’t start this discussion without remembering that if we live in Canada or the US, we’re in the top 2% of the world’s wealthiest people.
