Be In AWE Tool
A – Agree to be amazed
W – Work what works
E – Endgame is simple and intentional
A – Agree to be amazed
Psalm 95:6-7 — “Come, let us bow down in worship… For the Lord is the great God, the King above all gods.”
Intentionally choose to notice and be surprised by God’s presence and action around you right now. Stop for 60 seconds, breathe slowly, and name aloud one small thing you’re thankful for (sunlight, a kind word, a warm drink). Let that gratitude shift your attention toward God.
Reflection question
What can I be amazed at today?
W – Work what works
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 — “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will.”
Practice spiritual habits that actually help you notice and respond to God — start small, repeat what helps, and drop what doesn’t. Pick one simple habit for the next 3 days. For example: Record your answers to prayer and go over that testimony when you want to be amazed. Stay curious and keep a file of amazing things you learn about creation and use them to be in awe. Keep a file of other people’s answers to prayer—friends, family, what you see or hear in an article or book—whatever strikes you as something that makes you wonder at God.
Reflection question:
What rhythm can I use to remember things that amazing me?
E – Endgame is simple and intentional
Colossians 3:17 — “Whatever you do, in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.”
Keep the goal clear: a life shaped by ongoing attention to God, expressed in love for others and obedience — not complexity, but steady aim.
Write one sentence describing what “being attentive to God” looks like for you (e.g., “To notice God, I pause three times daily to pray and thank Him”). Put it where you’ll see it.
Reflection question:
What would it be like to be more aware of His presence?
Quick practice you can start now (60–90 seconds)
Breathe: 3 slow breaths.
Name: Say one thing you feel thankful for.
Notice: Ask, “Where might God be in this?” and listen for a thought or Scripture that comes to mind.
Act small: Praise God for what he reveals to you
Use this Be in AWE tool as a checklist:
A – Agree to be amazed (notice),
W – Work what works (practice),
E – Endgame is simple and intentional (aim).
Repeat daily and adjust habits as seasons change in your life so they can still help you stay present with God.
