This is my daily prayer for my families’ future. It’s inspired by what James tells us:
Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.
James 4:2b
Feel free to use it and change it for your own needs.
The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.
Numbers 6:24–26
Health and strength for myself and all my family members—may we all have strength for all of our days.
Give us hearts to know you and your hope and our inheritance in Christ and the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, which is available to us. May we always learn to know you better and better.
Bless the work of our hands. May the beauty of the Lord be upon us and may you establish the works of our hands. May we long enjoy the works of our hands and may we not labour in vain. May all our plans succeed for your glory.
Empower us to accomplish every good work prompted by our faith. Thank you that you showered your kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding, so everything is figureoutable. Show us your ways and lead us always—even when we don’t see it in the moment. Help us seek your peace always and never make light of your grace.
I could have no greater joy than to hear that my children are following the truth. Draw them to Yourself. Cover them in the shelter of Your wing.
Call to them in a way they will hear. Speak to them in a way they’ll understand. In your mercy pursue them, overtake them and overwhelm them with your love.
May our children and their children return to their own borders. Settle them back in their own lands. May they find their boundaries lines are in pleasant places.
Turn what the enemy meant for evil for good. Redeem them—they are yours. They have been bought with a price. They belong to you. The promise of the Holy Spirit is for us and our children and all who are far off. Don’t let them ignore your promise.
Lead them to people who will lead them to you. Let us know what we can do. Let us know when we should refrain. Give us wisdom and boldness to speak the truth in love to them. Help me not get angry when “they should know better” or “we didn’t raise them this way”. Help us to trust that you’re never going to let them go so all who wonder are not lost.
Keep them from the consequences of their own wisdom—may they always have grace in the wilderness. May your kindness lead them us all to repentance.
May our children and their children and their children—and all who believe because of them—receive the inheritance of our father and mother. You are with them in their coming and going and in their sitting and rising. Thank you that Your kindness to them will lead them to You.
May they seek Your face always. May they seek You and find You. May they seek You and live!
