Ten Things The Devil Can’t Do
Last week I wrote about the Ten Things God Can’t Do so today I thought we’d look at ten things the devil can’t do.
- The devil can’t keep you fearful. Psalm 27:1
- The devil can’t keep you depressed. Psalm 42:11
- The devil can’t keep you down. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9
- The devil can’t be in charge. Psalm 22:28
- The devil can’t demand your obedience. Romans 6:16
- The devil can’t touch the source of your life. Colossians 3:3
- The devil can’t be your friend. 2 Corinthians 6:14
- The devil can’t fool you when you know the Shepherd’s voice. John 10:5
- The devil can’t have authority over you. Luke 10:19
- The devil can’t win. 1 Corinthians 15:57
My favorite description of the devil comes from my mentor and uncle. He told me, “The devil is like a pebble in your shoe. There’s a bit of discomfort there. If you ignore the discomfort it could make it difficult for you to walk. If you still ignore it, you could get an infection. If you still ignore it, there is a slight chance it could kill you. BUT IT’S A PEBBLE! Stop and take it out of your shoe.”
I run into too many people blaming the devil for all their problems. For the vast majority of people who come to us for deliverance ministry, we spend more time teaching them on personal responsibility than we do taking authority over demons.
You’re on the winning side. Start acting like it!
Mind If I Pray For You?
Lord, no weapon formed against us shall prosper. All those who rise up against us will fall. Keep us from fear and help us to continue to expand your Kingdom. Thanks for letting us on your side. Amen.
Special Links to Mention
I found a couple of great articles I know you’ll want to read. The first one is a guest post on the blog “Let’s talk about this…” It’s entitled Unequally Yoked—but Happily Married: Secrets to successful marriage when you disagree on spiritual matters. I know a number of RevTrev Readers will be encouraged and challenged by it.
The second comes from Pastors.com and it’s an article by Rick Warren. 5 Ways To Reduce Conflict in Your Church Rick didn’t even mention my first suggestion, which would be “get rid of all the people.” He has some more biblical insights to share.
Do you have favorite links you found this week? Leave them in the comments. I’d enjoy checking them out.
A Look Ahead
We are coming very close to launching a site to train authors in book marketing, social media marketing, online marketing, and transitioning their book to a business. I’m getting more and more excited as we solve one problem after another.
With so many people asking for similar help marketing ministries I have plans to use much of the same material for another site to train ministries to expand the Kingdom. Appreciate the prayer.
I hope you understand why I haven’t been posting as much on RevTrev.com. I’m recording more Counselling Corner episodes and RevTrev podcasts…that reminds me I might have the first podcast up later today….Hey, I got it up…Check it out and let me know what you think.
Why Do Christians Believe in Three Gods?
In this episode we launch the segmented version of RevTrev Radio. I interview Cheryl Shea about her book Soul Surgeon. I give you my opinion about Pete Wilson’s book Empty Promises. There is part one of a message entitled “How to Prepare for the Suddenlies of God” and I try to answer a question from a Muslim reader who asked, “Why do Christians believe in three Gods?” I hope you enjoy! http://revtrev.com/revtrev-radio/why-do-christians-believe-in-three-gods/
