Question:
I am a very new born again Christian, I have only a year and a few months. And my vision is to become a “TRUE PURE
Answer:
Elia,
Wow, you’re on an incredible adventure. God is going to surprise you so much with unexpected goodness.
Prayer can be a great adventure as well. Sit down with a coffee (or your drink of choice) and realize God is already there. Talk to him like a friend. Sometimes he’ll give you burdens to pray through, then agree with His will found in Scripture and keep praying until you find release.
We’re really in an incredible partnership with our Creator. I don’t understand it all because the more I learn and experience it, the more I’m humbled and in awe. But I’ve learned to enjoy the relationship.
It’s not about praying through a list of needs. Yes, we are to bring all our requests to God but if we leave it at that we’re missing out on the relationship. We need to learn to listen to Him as well and follow His leading in our prayers so we’re agreeing with Him.
This is because when we ask anything according to His will He hears us and we know we have what we ask of Him.
If your thoughts stray to things you “have to do” here’s a trick that works for me – write those thoughts down so you don’t forget them. Then ask God if He wants you to pray about those situations (and then pray, because often He does).
If you have questions about hearing God’s voice I’ve posted a few thoughts on it:
