Why should I seek the Lord? Well, besides the promise that those who seek the Lord will lack no good thing (Psalm 34:10), there are a number of other benefits to following God’s command to seek Him (Hosea 10:12).
Much like fearing the Lord, seeking the Lord is of great benefit for us; and like fearing the Lord, we shouldn’t seek the Lord just to get the benefits. Knowing the benefits can motivate us, keep us focused and help us know when we’re on the right track.
Here are seven benefits I can find in Scripture.
Live LIGHT with your whole heart7 Benefits of Seeking The Lord
1. We’ll fully understand justice
Proverbs 28:5 (New International Version)
Evil men do not understand justice,
but those who seek the LORD understand it fully.
2. We don’t need to worry about everything everyone worries about
Matthew 6:31-33 (New International Version)
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
3. God’s ears will be attentive to our prayers
1 Peter 3:12 (New International Version)
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
4. We’ll be delivered from our fears
Psalm 34:4 (New International Version)
I sought the LORD, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.
5. We’ll Live!
Amos 5:4 (New International Version)
This is what the LORD says to the house of Israel:
“Seek me and live;
6. We will be strengthened
2 Chronicles 16:9 (New International Version)
For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.
7. God will be found
1 Chronicles 28:9 (New International Version)
“And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.
Jeremiah 29:13 (New International Version)
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Do you know of any other benefits in Scripture? Let me know in the comments. I really appreciate that.

Richard Martinez says
What are the Benefits of Seeking God? I listed 15 Benefits of seeking God, based on Scripture. I hope it blesses you.
Heb. 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a REWARDER of those who diligently SEEK HIM.
15 BENEFITS:
1. Find God
o 1 Chron. 28:9 And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.
o Jer. 29:13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
o Deut. 4:29 But if from there you will seek (inquire for and require as necessity) the Lord your God, you will find Him if you [truly] seek Him with all your heart [and mind] and soul and life.
2. Find Life
o Amos 5:4-6 For thus says the LORD to the house of Israel, “Seek Me that you may live. “But do not resort to Bethel And do not come to Gilgal, Nor cross over to Beersheba; For Gilgal will certainly go into captivity And Bethel will come to trouble. “Seek the LORD that you may live, Or He will break forth like a fire, O house of Joseph, And it will consume with none to quench it for Bethel,
o Deut. 30:19-20 19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live 20 and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
3. Your Needs Will Be Met
o Matt 6:33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
o Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! O fear the LORD, you His saints; For to those who fear Him there is no want. The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing.
4. Find Restoration of What Was Taken From You (God Will Make it Up to You):
• Jer. 29:14 14. ‘I will be found by you,’ declares the LORD, ‘and I will restore your fortunes and will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you,’ declares the LORD, ‘and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.’
• Job 8:5-6 “If you would seek God And implore the compassion of the Almighty, If you are pure and upright, Surely now He would rouse Himself for you And restore your righteous estate.
5. Find Rest For Your Soul:
o 2 Chron. 14:7 For he said to Judah, “Let us build these cities and surround them with walls and towers, gates and bars. The land is still ours because we have sought the LORD our God; we have sought Him, and He has given us rest on every side.” So they built and prospered.
o Jer. 6:16 – This is what the LORD says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’ (NLT)
o Matt. 11:28 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
6. Escape Judgement
o Zephaniah 2:3 Seek the LORD, all you humble of the land, you who do what he commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you will be sheltered on the Day of the LORD’s anger.
o Luke 21: 25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
• V.34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch ye therefore, and PRAY ALWAYS, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
7. Satisfies the Thirsty Soul:
o Psalm 63:1 O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.
8. Healing/Healing of the Land
o 2 Chron 7:14 My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and SEEK MY FACE and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
o 2 Chron. 16:12 And in the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa became diseased in his feet, and his malady was severe; yet in his disease he did not SEEK THE LORD, but the physicians. 13 So Asa rested with his fathers; he died in the forty-first year of his reign.
o 2 Chronicles 30:18-20 For a multitude of the people, even many from Ephraim and Manasseh, Issachar and Zebulun, had not purified themselves, yet they ate the Passover otherwise than prescribed. For Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, “May the good LORD pardon everyone WHO PREPARES HIS HEART TO SEEK GOD, the LORD God of his fathers, though not according to the purification rules of the sanctuary.” So the LORD heard Hezekiah and HEALED THE PEOPLE.
9. Blessing
o Psalm 119:2 How BLESSED are those who observe His testimonies, Who SEEK HIM with all their heart.
10. Strength
o 1 Chron. 16:11 Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face continually.
11. Gladness (Joy & Praise)
o Psalm 40:16 Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let those who love Your salvation say continually, “The LORD be magnified!”
o Psalm 105:3 Glory in His holy name; Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad.
o 1 Chron 16:11 Glory in His holy name; Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad.
o Psalm 22:6 The afflicted will eat and be satisfied; Those who seek Him will praise the LORD Let your heart live forever!
12. Understanding:
o Prov. 28:5 Evil men do not understand justice, But those who seek the LORD understand all things.
13. Ensures the Favor of God (special place in God’s heart for you):
o Lam. 3:25 The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him.
o Ezra 8:23 The hand of our God is favorably disposed to all those who seek Him, but His power and His anger are against all those who forsake Him.
o Mal. 3:16-18 Then those who feared the Lord spoke with one another. The Lord paid attention and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before him of those who feared the Lord and esteemed his name. 17 “They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in the day when I make up my treasured possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him. 18 Then once more you shall see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him.
14. Results in Answered Prayer
o Psalm 34:4 I sought the LORD, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears.
15. Results in Deliverance
o Psalm 34:4 I sought the LORD, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears.

Thanks China. Keep reading and keep sharing.
We’ll find him
Acts 17:24-27
New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)
“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.
We won’t be a fool
Proverbs 15:14
New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)
The discerning heart seeks knowledge,
but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.
We’ll avoid evil
Proverbs 16:6
New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)
Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for;
through the fear of the Lord a man avoids evil.
He’ll respond to us
Hosea 6:1-6
New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)
“Come, let us return to the Lord.
He has torn us to pieces
but he will heal us;
he has injured us
but he will bind up our wounds.
After two days he will revive us;
on the third day he will restore us,
that we may live in his presence.
Let us acknowledge the Lord;
let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises,
he will appear;
he will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth.”
“What can I do with you, Ephraim?
What can I do with you, Judah?
Your love is like the morning mist,
like the early dew that disappears.
Therefore I cut you in pieces with my prophets,
I killed you with the words of my mouth;
my judgments flashed like lightning upon you.
For I desire mercy, not sacrifice,
and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings.
